Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She is currently a fighter in the UFC Flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports journey as a Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via the unanimous vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia, who began her professional career in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and the 2016 International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. It was also the WMC World Championships also held in 2016, and she won the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002, during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She took the win via a second round TKO after which she won 2 more fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko took a break from MMA to focus on kickboxing. She made her comeback in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimously-decided match before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her fighting techniques to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Antonina Shevchenko received the UFC contract following this win. Antonina was given an UFC contract following her victory. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous victory, however she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi on the split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko had a win in her first three fights but then lost the fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina was defeated by Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
