Steven Tyler

Steven TylerUnder the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they spent some time in Boston's club circuit. The group began working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). They signed a record deal in 1972 and dropped their debut album titled "Eponymous" in 1973. It was followed in 1973 by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. And Draw the Line. These albums were instrumental in helping Aerosmith achieve international fame. These albums produced iconic hits such as "Dream On", "Walk This Way" as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's five first albums all had multi-platinum status. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. The band began to feel the effects of the hectic life of touring, recording, living together and using drugs as the decade went on. Due to their famous use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were called the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music and many videos released by Aerosmith illustrate their bond. Tyler seemed to be more committed to Aerosmith and appeared to dislike Perry's aloof attitude. Perry, however, was jealous of Tyler's choice for women in her life. The tension between Tyler, Perry, and their once-friendly girlfriends was a leading factor in the decline of Aerosmith, circa 1980.
